Did
You Know:
Turbine blades travel at speeds of up to 150 mph and have severely
injured or killed Golden Eagles, Merlin, Red Kite and other raptors
throughout the world. Bats are also at risk..

Did
You Know:
In construction each turbine needs around 20 x 15 ton lorry loads
of concrete which generates up to 2,000 lorry journeys along the
roads to and from the site as well as journeys for manpower, hard-core,
materials, cranes, turbine sections etc.

Did
You Know:
The government put in place a complex system of
subsidies that stand to make developers very rich. A typical 3MWh
turbine can generate its owner nearly £550,000 per year for
25 years BUT only 33% of this comes from generating electricity!

Did You Know:
Industrial wind turbines cannot replace conventional energy production...they
can only supplement it. No country in the world has ever closed
a power station as a direct result of building wind turbines.

Did
You Know:
DEFRA has commissioned research into "INFRASOUND". It
identifies infrasound as a source of stress-related illness and
cites wind turbines amongst the common hazards.

Did
You Know:
EON (Powergen's parent company) have reported that wind power cannot
adapt to meet demand and that high levels of wind power cause the
grid to become unstable.

Did
You Know:
Despite assurances to the contrary, wind turbines are dangerous
and owners/developers do not like walkers, climbers, cyclists, horse
riders or any unauthorised visitors to access the countryside they
commandeer.
